  just read the book.

  the plot has some inconsistencies, but the issues the book deals with are interesting nonetheless.

  conspiracy theory nuts will love it.

  I haven't read the book, so I cannot comment on that. I do agree that we are controlled by fear though. I think it has always kinda been that way though. If nothing else, fear of death.

  Today of course, it is served to us in big doses by the media. The media used to be controlled by hundreds of companies, but is down to just a few now, newspapers, tv news, radio news. I was watching CNN once and they had a commercial for their so-called rival station, Fox News. I realized that it is all owned by the same company and was just being served up in different flavors.

  Thanks for telling your story. It seems like it takes a major event in people's lives to open them up to seeing what was always there. Our lives are not scripted, as your story shows, and it is when the mind is forced into the present moment that we can see the bonds that connect us all and the presence of God.

  Good luck to you and your wife. I hope you have many happy years together.

  The way you describe seeing things differently, as a kid, than others did is interesting. I wonder how many children get marked as mentally slow who are just seeing and expressing things from a different perspective?

  My Brother Died in a Car Wreck Last Night

  i just found out about an hour ago.

  he wasn't even old enough to drink yet.. to make it even sh*ttier, he had called me a few weeks ago and asked if he could come out here with me but i couldn't do it at the time.

  so of course the first thing that comes to mind is if i had done something different it wouldn't have happened.. he was going through the sh*t as i call it, when witnesses go off the deep end and get into everything in the world to stop hurting and they don't even know what is wrong.

  I am so sorry for the loss of your dear brother. As we grow up, the older siblings tend to protect the younger ones. However, there are times and circumstances that we cannot protect against. My heart goes out to you and your family.

  i work with this jw but was recently df.

  prior to the convention i noticed the "sister" would talk to me normally as if i wasn't even df.

  she just brushed it aside and i really appreciated her mature, professional behaviour towards me.. since she attended the dc however she's been acting cold towards me.

  Should DF'd people talk to other DF'd people??? YOU be the judge...

  ok all... i was in a store looking for bedroom furniture and in walks this former elder with his new woman - they too are shopping for bedroom furniture.

  he got df'd like 5 years ago so he has no idea i'm df'd.

  recently, i've been thinking about how, when i got df'd, i would sit in the parking lot of the kh waiting for the meeting to start, and so would other df'd people.

  Anyone who is Dfd and trying to get reinstated is told by the elders not to talk to other Dfd ones. I knew 2 young men who were sharing an apartment and one was trying to come back. The elders told him that he would have to kick the other guy out to get reinstated. He explained the other guy had no where to go and they had a contract they both signed for the apartment.

  No excuses accepted was their response. Either kick him out or find your own place. And, oh yes, just buy your way out of the contract. He couldn't afford to do so and decided to just give up on reinstatement. He believed for years that he would be destroyed at Armegeddon.

  Good news now, he knows the whole religion is a pack of lies.

  a man with no arms and one leg ... has already spent more than three years in prison for ... kicking a state trooper and other charges.. like something out of monty python and the holy grail!.

  Hey, what else could he do with no arms and only one leg? Seiously, I could understand him having problems. Who would like to lose 3 out of 4 limbs? Sounds like he might need some counseling.

  i haven't posted here in ages, i ended up having to re-register.

  so, hi again to all.........alot has happened to me the last few years....went through a divorce, but very happily remarried....also got accepted to nursing school!

  life is good...... i am still battling my own demons when it comes to the witnesses........i am very torn at times....i see that this world is getting so much worse, i often wonder if maybe we should all hope for something better in the future......do you think a new world is possible????

  I can understand your feelings, as we see so many negative things in the world. Sometimes I think it depends on what you choose to focus on. There are a lot of great things that happen too.

  It would be nice to have some sky daddy come and fix all our problems, but I think they are ours to fix, or not. Whenever I get to complaining about this world, I ask myself, What have I done to fix anything? It is going to take a new consciousness in people to make this world better, one person ar a time.

  Why did Jehovah break his own law by making leeches and mosquitoes that feed on blood only? What should we do if we are bitten by a mosquitoe or pick up a leech accidentally? Wash ourselves and be unclean until the evening?

  with michigan.. i have been to michigan many times and i just love the lake and the landscape.

  the sunsets over lake michigan are the most beautiful i have ever seen.

  i have been to most places up the west coast along the lake.

  I have been to Leelanau Peninsula and it too is beautiful. And Arcadia, along with Manistee which holds a special place in my heart.

  I noticed this summer that there are so many places for sale along the west coast too. There have never seemed to be too many well paying jobs there, but I am talking about retiring there. I like St Joseph's too and South Haven is nice. I havn't found too many towns I didn't like along the west coast. I have been to the suburbs of Detroit, but not the city. I haven't explored the east coast side much. I have this thing about wanting the sun to set over the lake, not rise. I don't function well in the AM.

  I would like to invest in some property up there now, but don't know how to go about it, as it will be a while before we can retire. Any suggestions?
